A NEW GENERATION OF FILMMAKERS STARTS HERE
You don't need to know how to make a film before you join. That's what you're here to learn.
Learn the foundations of filmmaking, choose a creative specialty, and turn your ideas into work you can be proud of—with guided online lessons, real practice, and step-by-step support.
THE FOUNDATION
Everyone starts somewhere. We introduce the language and craft of filmmaking in plain English, then help you learn by doing. Each specialization goes deeper into one discipline while showing how the whole film crew works together.
See how learning worksYou'll learn the fundamentals of filmmaking, including camera operation, lighting, screenwriting, directing, editing, and production. Through hands-on projects and step-by-step lessons, you'll develop the creative and technical skills to bring your ideas to life on screen.
DISCOVER YOUR CREATIVE PATH
Ten focused, 14-week online programs. Choose the area you want to explore and see exactly what you'll be learning.
Program enrollment, current cohort availability, start dates, and access are confirmed by the Academy. Published course previews do not guarantee immediate admission.

AN EDUCATION THAT MAKES SENSE
Our approach is built for people starting from zero, as well as creators who want a stronger foundation.
Explore the ten filmmaking paths, see the weekly topics, and pick the creative role you want to learn.
Read clear explanations, see visual examples, answer knowledge checks, and learn the vocabulary as you go.
Complete guided projects using a smartphone, ordinary spaces, paper, and accessible gear where appropriate.
Turn exercises into real creative work, use instructor feedback, and build toward a program-specific final project.
A GREAT PLACE TO START
Our Directing & Visual Storytelling program starts by explaining what directors actually do. You'll learn to read scripts, guide actors, understand camera angles, plan shots, and make deliberate choices that support a story.
BUILD SKILLS. DOCUMENT YOUR GROWTH.
Each specialization builds toward a final creative project and a body of practice work. Students who satisfy the Academy’s completion requirements may receive an Academy-issued Certificate of Completion after instructor review.
Your real, completed production roles can also become documented portfolio experience. The certificate is not an accredited degree, union qualification, professional license, or promise of employment.
